"Douglas Park is a transitional neighborhood. The houses and the lots are small, but generally well kept. Shirlington Village is walking distance, which makes it feel like more of a community. "

"There is a dog park right around the corner, plenty of trails to walk dogs on, and many of the restaurants are dog friendly in the summer! Overall a very dog-friendly neighborhood."

"West Village of Shirlington has a ton of amenities. The pool is amazing during the summer. No need for a gym membership, as the community has an awesome gym in the club house - not to mention the pool table, poker tables and grills. Very pet friendly neighborhood. 10 minute stroll to restaurants, bars and shops in Shirlington Village. Easy access to 395. Fantastic area all around! "
