Beautiful 19th century brick Italianate in the heart of Newburgh's East End Historic District - This stunning, detached 4-unit property is just a short stroll from the waterfront (dining, ferry, train), multiple parks, dining, Public Library, etc. Whether you're looking for a straight investment property or a home for yourself with additional income, this well cared for gem is one of the best of its kind in the City! Surrounded by Grand Street's architectural treasures, and some of the widest bluestone sidewalks in the City, the walkability factor is wonderful. Inside, there are 4 spacious & bright apartments (1 per floor) - each with their own unique details/character. Out back, there's a nice, clean, private space for relaxing or entertaining. Long-term tenants in place on top 3 floors - bottom unit is being kept vacant for easy showings. 2nd fl tenants take care of general maintenance. A great property - Don't miss it!

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has teachers that care and work hard to ensure equal learning for all. The principal has always addressed concerns quickly and resolved problems immediately. The students are constantly reminded of their manners and actions towards others. The schools location allows the children to have more walking tours than other elementary schools. This is a great school for any child.Parent Review11y ago - Newburgh Free Academy Main Campus

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAbsolute disaster of a school. Picture a place that smells so bad of weed and vape that it makes you sick. Hallways so crowded that you cant move or breathe. While trying to get through these hallways, students are blasting disgusting music on portable speakers. You're pushed and shoved, body slammed daily. Teachers (most of them) couldn't care less about a student doing well. They are just trying to get through the day. It's a horrible, nasty, ugly, soul-sucking place in every way. Nobody is happy, everyone is jaded and just trying to make it. It's depressing and awful. It's how I'd imagine a prison would be. Yelling at every turn, being treated like garbage by security constantly. Don't send your kids here. Move.Other Review3w ago - South Middle School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average0/10.......WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANY SCHOOL IN THIS DISTRICT!! ESPECIALLY South Middle School!! If your child is not black, hispanic, a mixture of either, they are NEVER heard! These scumbags ACTIVELY work to vilify any child with special needs, children that are bullied on a daily basis and children who are just in general 'different' than the weapon toting demographic. Would NEVER in my life recommend torturing your children by sending them here.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 202 Grand Street.

What Locals Say about Newburgh

"Newburgh is a bit of a melting pot, so beyond the Illuminated Festival (celebrating this being the second city, after NYC, to received electricity and Thomas Edison’s temporary residence here) there’s everything from Peruvian Music festivals to air shows at New York Stewart International to a rowing club on the Hudson River. There’s a great art scene with wonderful galleries and strong community service representation."

"I’ve lived in Newburgh for almost 4 years now and I love it. It is VERY rough around the edges but people won’t bother you unless you bother them. There are several gems in the area if you’re willing to look. Being right on the water is a huge plus. Please spend some time in Newburgh before you listen to negative comments from someone that doesn’t live here ! "

"If it’s not the town of Newburgh. It will not be quiet day or night. It will always have people out side ( hangout ). If you allow your kids to go out side to play. U must watch your children at all times. Unless you have a fenced in yard. Even then you must still keep a eye on your children. The inside of the places are beautiful to a lot of these places. The school is even a great school. One of the best. As in academics. Everything else well you have to have a special taste to live in the city of Newburgh. It’s not for everyone. Only the strong of the strongest can live here, and still make it and still survive. So if that’s not you. Don’t be fooled stay in the Town Of Newburgh or others. Now remember no matter where you live doesn’t define who you are. Who you are as a person is everything. "
