"No community events in this area. Columbia in general is not a safe place to live and does not promote a healthy lifestyle. Very few bike lanes, and what they do have is not well maintained. Do not feel safe running and walking alone."

"There’s a dog park. But it would be nice if there were fenced back yards. Sometimes people in the neighborhood just let their dogs wonder off leash and that’s inconvenient and unsafe at times"

"The older houses all have foundation problems, and the new ones are slabs. Neighborhood isn’t safe. Weird smells, like Meth is cooking. Gunshots are not uncommon."

"I live downtown. If you’re a parent, this just isn’t the area for kids. It’s all college students and young professionals, and very loud Thursday-Sunday nights. I love it as a 20-something, but it would be a (in my opinion) unnecessary inconvenience to live downtown while trying to raise children. "

"It is very nice, quite, safe and charming area. It is located at the center of Columbia and doesn’t take more than 10 minutes to go everywhere in Columbia. Just few feet from MKT trail and five minutes walking to campus."

"Dog owners would love the wooded area of the Parkade neighborhood, being close to an elementary school there are also big open spaces to run around and play fetch. There is a great little open park (Parkade Park) and a dog park further down Garth, plus the nature trails all over! "

"Next to Stephens Park, a short walk from Conley and all of its amenities. One of my neighbors said, "This is the quietest block I know where everyone has a dog." There's a daycare near by. You could easily bike to Stephens and Columbia College. A wonderful area with a lot to offer. "

"I began looking for homes here originally because it was close to my work but quickly fell in LOVE! It is a well established area with beautiful, large trees (unlike with all these new developments) and very well maintained. I immediately imagined going on walks with my son (even walking distance from a park) and the school district is one of the best in Columbia. Plus, it is near the I-70/ H63 interchange. "

"Aside from the gun violence and drug activity in the area, it's great. Went to showings on Fourth and King, homes in very bad condition - very hard pressed to see any value in homes at all. These homes may also be subject to the blight decree that the city of Columbia is looking to invoke. I would only recommend for developers with deep pockets to bulldoze and start over."
