There is a mix of older families who have lived in the area since the neighborhood was first built and a growing turnover of young families. Everyone is friendly, kind and respectful. The schools are continuing to improve and surprise me. Wheeling high school is now an excellent school. We initially felt we would move before our kids go to high school, but now we feel we can stay and still ensure a great education for our kids. "

Last week I had a coyote in my backyard. Stray cats, raccoons and possums are always seen. Little to no violence is a real plus."

    "I have lived in Shadow Bend for almost 20 years and it's great! Well maintained, friendly and clean. The pricing is so low now, it's a fantastic deal for buyers. Wheeling is a very diverse community. While some of the rental developments may be questionable, the residential areas (both single family and multi) are safe and friendly. No, it's not the North Shore, but you aren't paying for the status address either. With home buying being such a bargain nowadays, you'd be crazy not to invest in some of the "deals" in this area. The rebound is coming..."
