What Locals Say about Wake Forest

"We’ve lived here for 14+ years and love it. This little town has so much to offer; great restaurants, theater, parks, greenways and wonderful people! "

"A bit of traffic around 4:00 to 6:00pm. My neighborhood is gated and has a very nice, exclusive Country Club. My neighborhood has it’s very own private security service and they constantly patrol the neighborhood."

"I am retired but when I was working I worked in Cary, NC which generally required a 45 minute to 1 hour commute."

"N/A. Retired but when I did work it was a 45 minute drive to Cary, NC. If I took Capital Blvd. the drive time could be an hour or more. "

"I am retired. When I worked my commute was 40+ minutes. However, it was quite scenic, crossing the lake and past several horse farms. "

"There are quite a few dog owners in my neighborhood. Most are responsible owners, but there are those that walk their dogs at night and allow them to relieve themselves in their neighbors yards. This is the part I dislike. I sit on my porch at night and you wouldn’t believe the things I see dog owners allow their dogs to do."

"Wake Forest is family friendly, safe, and has a quaint historic downtown. The old Wake Forest University campus is now the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and it brings a wonderful flavor to our town. We love it here!"

"I drive & capital Blvd is always trafficked but over all great because everything is so close by! The mall; triangle mall is 10 minutes away! & there are huge shopping centers that make everything so easy!"

"Diverse neighborhood with multigenerational residents. Well lit and well maintained streets, landscaping kept up well by city. Residents are friendly and respectful of one another. Great location to all necessary services and close to major highways. "

"Side walks to walk your dog. A lot of dogs in neighborhood. Leash law in effect so not many dogs roaming the neighborhood. Neighbors will complain if your dog is left outside all the time or if dog barks all the time. "

"It’s a very small neighborhood with only 10-12 homes on very large wooded lots. My kids can walk to Falls Lake just going out our back yard which is really nice... The whole ‘coyote’ thing is real however as our cat was recently attacked and killed and other neighborhood cats have been coming home with injuries, so make sure your animals come inside for the night! With that said, being so small, there aren’t a ton of other kids for my kids to spontaneously hang out with. Also, bc there weren’t enough homes to get city services, we have to use propane (very expensive), well water (community well), and a septic tank. Also, with it being so small, there’s a fair amount of neighborhood gossip and some people are really uptight, even mean. So, even though I love the house, I’ll probably leave soon to have a larger neighborhood for more kids and frankly nicer neighbors. "
