I am a plus sized girl and I get fat shamed on the daily. This school is a terrible environment and frankly bad for my mental health. Also the bathrooms have profane language and some.. interesting drawings in there. The teachers overwork us and the school is a MESS. As a parent deeply invested in my child's education, my experience with Oak Grove Elementary School has been nothing short of disappointing. The glaring issues with this institution stem primarily from its abysmal leadership and woefully inadequate special education services.From the outset, it was evident that OGE lacked effective leadership. Administrative decisions were haphazardly made, resulting in constant confusion and disorganization. The principal seemed disengaged and indifferent to the concerns raised by both parents and teachers, fostering an environment of neglect and frustration.Special education services at OGE were shockingly subpar. Despite assurances of tailored support for students with diverse needs, my child's Individualized Education Program (IEP) was routinely overlooked and disregarded. The lack of qualified staff and resources meant that children with special needs were often left to flounder, without the necessary tools and accommodations to thrive academically and socially.Moreover, communication between the school and parents regarding special education matters was virtually nonexistent. Important updates and progress reports were sporadic at best, leaving families feeling isolated and uninformed about their child's educational journey.In conclusion, Oak Grove Elementary School's abysmal leadership and inadequate special education services have created an environment rife with frustration and disappointment. As a parent, it is heartbreaking to witness the potential of our children stifled by such neglect and incompetence. They have no control over their racist students and everything is about race and the gay community its sickening. Nobody wants to talk about it but I will. They show favoritism towards the racist kids whose parents have money and allow them to start fights with out doing anything to fix it. "We need sidewalks in Roanoke county!! Cave spring for sure! Please give us somewhere to walk I have walked on the side of the road for years and had to walk in thorns I think it would help everyone and businesses could get more business with the ability for more people to access them. If people do not have cars sidewalks would be greatly appreciated."

"You see people walking their dogs all the time. Neighbors will occasionally greet them with treats. Some apartment communities will have Doggy Swim Days the last pool day of the season. We love that day,and so do the dogs! ❤"

"You see a lot of people walking their dogs. It’s a pretty safe area for your dog to be in. I’ve never noticed any maltreatment towards dogs here. All of the owners are typically friendly and open. Of course all of the dogs are great dogs. There is plenty of sidewalk space for dog walking as well as grass for the dogs to roam and play in. "

"Safe, but keep an eye out. Roanoke is going downhill in my personal opinion. However, if you have to live in Roanoke, Cave Spring is safest. "

"I’m only here for three months but it’s a very safe feeling upper middle class neighborhood. Beautiful with lots of trees and very lovely homes. I feel quite comfortable leaving my front door and car door unlocked at night. "
