2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageKearns High does not deal with bullies correctly they give them chance after chance. This person has been bullying someone for the last year and has put their hands on them at least twice with video proof from other kids. They have also posted on multiple social media platforms about this kid started rumors and even spray painted the victims number at the tracks with a sexual slur. They also posted a video of themselves doing this. They have posted videos of them selfs doing drugs and smoking in the bathrooms at school and they continue to get away with it. Some of the things they have done are considered hate crimes. I thought Kearns high and the entire granite district have 0 tolerance on bullies. Also they didn't give any notice to the victim that the bully was coming back to school and when asked why Mr. Smith said they didn't have to. That it was a courtesy that he even told the parents the day of. Yet in most cases when someone is assaulted and the attacker is detained they always tell the victim that they are being released so they can do stuff to keep themselves safe. Apparently school staff doesn't believe in this. This girl has attacked other people and brags about it on social media showing her bloody knuckles. She shows no remorse at all and by anyone's guess that she will continue to terrorize anyone who's different from her.Parent Review1mo ago - Jim Bridger School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrible school. My daughter went here a year ago and everyday she came home sad because kids were bullying her. And what did this school do? Nothing. Part of the reason she came home sad was the teachers. Especially her fifth grade teacher. Send your kids elsewhere.Parent Review6mo ago - Thomas Jefferson Jr High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m going to be honest: Thomas Jefferson Jr. High is a great school. It doesn’t matter what the scores say or what everybody has said about Jefferson in general. I’m currently an 8th-grade student who has been attending there since the 6th grade. When I first started 6th grade here at Jefferson, I actually had a special permit to attend there. I didn't want to follow what my elder brother did and attend Kennedy (Kennedy Jr. High just didn't stand out for me). Since I was the quiet and lonely kid in elementary school, I was terrified. I only took math and science honors because I didn't really understand what those class titles meant. My English teacher kind of forced me to change to English honors because it was useless for me to stay in regulars. It took a lot of convincing to get me to do all honors, as English wasn't my first language. But over time, with support from my family and staff, I decided to give myself a chance to expand and become better. From the time I have spent at Jefferson, I have gotten so much support from my peers, teachers, and counselors. Heck, even the staff are quite interesting and fun. They have always encouraged me to try harder, to push, and to test my limits. During my time here, I have gained so many interests and a love for subjects I didn't quite understand when I was younger. The teachers are always fun and supportive; they each have different personalities and teach in a different way. I started to run because of our Cross Country Club; I started to love math because of the math Olympiad program in 6th; I started to gain a love for writing in our 6th grade honors English class; and in general, I could have named plenty more.As a current student, I have learned so much about myself and about other people. We also got the chance to learn respect, empathy, and life-related skills during my time here. I'm still not perfect, and I'm still shy, but I'll learn from my experience here at Jefferson and continue reaching for the sky. (Ooo, a rhyme.) I even became the Vice President of SBOs with a 4.0 GPA and student-of-the-year twice (hopefully three times when I leave). But I cannot and will not ever speak for other students. It depends on you, the person, to push yourself to your own limits. Having support means nothing if you don't allow yourself to touch the heavens.Student Review5mo ago - Check out schools near 5331 W Cyclamen Way.
