4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSomeone here wrote that L.I.C has changed (for the worse) in the last three years. I went to L.I.C 17 years ago and it has always been bad. I am now 30 and even before me it already had its reputation. A determined student will cross all obstacles to get to the finish line. But what if you just remove the obstacles and allow your child to shine. I am grateful for the experience this high school has provided me with. It taught me the hard knocks of life. It made me a strong individual, along with those before me. But not everyone is equipped for that environment.Parent Review1y ago - Ps 122 Mamie Fay

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt is an excellent school with many positive teachers. The staffs are also very sincere even though many of them might be heading toward their retirement. I have noticed there are few teachers irrationally complain to parents publicly about students misconduct in class . It is a bad manner that demoralizes students' daily spirit. Most of the students live near by the school. Therefore, physical education teachers and others may scratch some evening sports event in weekly basis. It may help in developing leadership quality with cordial sense belonging along with the good score in tests.Parent Review3y ago - Is 141 The Steinway

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBeing in this school has genuinely been one of the most torturing things ever. Everything starts off good in sixth grade, but once you get to seventh, it all goes downhill. My seventh grade teachers were the absolute worse, not to mention the constant reminders of “You’re not in sixth grade anymore, you’re growing up.” The Spanish teacher was honestly so rude, and forced everyone to participate in her class, along with keeping false promises. And the fact that we only learn Spanish for one year is dumb, it’s only because it’s the minimum requirement, which shows the lengths that this school could but doesn’t go to. Not to mention, that many of the teachers mention that because you’re in an “honors” class that you have to be a role model. I kept constantly getting reminded of it, everytime that the class would misbehave. “I’ve never seen an honors class behave this way.” - Every teacher I’ve had every single year. Additionally, there would also be so many “threats” that the teachers would make, such as losing your rights to have prom, or to go outside for “recess”. The environment is also very toxic, not even in a specific grade, all year round. I’ve seen sixth graders with worse language and actions than eight graders. Every year I’ve been at this school, I just got more and more excited to leave. I would not wish this experience at this school even upon my worst enemy.Student Review11mo ago - Check out schools near 24 Crescent St #1.
