I believe the neighborhood has an impact of carelessness no respect for the kids at this school, putting them in danger with their reckless driving and Disrespectful . So i move my son to a school away from this area, it is unfortunate.Parent Review1y ago - Samuel Gompers Middle School

"of you go to school here or need to be here cool but for raising children not the location. I have 2 boys and this is not the place I would be having them go out side or run around. also there is almost never any parking here. I could buy a new car with all that I owe in parking tickets"

"I've lived here for 3 years now and some of the neighbors are friendly and we all look out for one another. There's a laundry mat right across the street from where I live so it's really convenient when laundry needs to be done a plus about that is I don't have to cross a busy intersection it's right on the corner of a residential neighborhood. "

"Nothing. this is a fine neighborhood to live in as long as you parent your kids properly. There is not too much activity at night. you hear sirens or a helicopter every once in a while but not lately. "

"Like most of L. A. , we are over - crowded by families who exceed maximum occupancy; averaging about 30 per household. One bedroom apts hold 3 generations. Everyone gets a loud birthday party and all parties are outside. Good luck finding a parking space on the same block. "

"Not a good place to have dogs... This is a crowded area................................................ "
- Trulia User
- Visitor
- 2y ago
"There are a lot of lose dogs around the neighborhood and many aren’t trained so it can pose a threat to your dog. People don’t pick up after their dogs so there is poop on the sidewalks. Also it can be hard to walk your dog because there is a lot of trash on the street and sidewalks so your dog might chew things up. "

"Fairs and parks are plentiful, small block parks everywhere. We have 3 in a 8 block radius There is a homeless problem; that’s all over the country Theft is very low people respect each other’s property in that way. Not the prettiest are the newest but is fairly safe I catch the bus to work and it is actually the best bus line in the city of Los Angeles comes every five minutes it goes from Gardena to Hollywood every five minutes "

"I lived in my neighborhood for 4 years. I like that I can take walks the family and the dog. I don't like how some people drive so fast, over 55 mph. Criminal activity is something to be on the look out for."
- Vanessa A.

"Always a long commute. Wether I drive or use public transportation. The streets have also been redone to accommodate bikers & scooters with their own lanes but most riders don’t follow the signs or lights. You have to be a super defensive driver."
- Maria P.
- Resident

"Everyday you have to pass through homeless encampments to get out of my block. I have to replace the window of my care 4 times! I definitely do not feel safe walking."

"There aren’t any that I am aware of. No sense of community here. It has a long way to go. The old houses are beautiful. Parking is a nightmare. Proximity to metro is great. "
