Spacious, single-story, mid-century traditional ranch-style home located in the highly sought-after Olde Carlsbad neighborhood. Just moments from Carlsbad Village, freeway access, shopping, the beach, exceptional coastal restaurants, entertainment, and three top-rated schools within walking distance. The welcoming front room (29'x13') features large picture windows which create a bright, inviting space for use as a formal or casual living area. Two large skylights illuminate the adjacent living room while the gas fireplace and built-in bookcase give it warmth despite its expansive dimensions (17'x15'). Beautiful oak hardwood flooring throughout most of the home adds warmth and beauty. Solatube® skylights in the second bath and pantry offer radiant illumination even on the cloudiest days. The sizeable open kitchen (16'x13') holds ample counter space, and a large center island offers plenty of seating and additional workspace. Abundant kitchen cabinet storage, serious overhead lighting, and ceiling fan allow the chef to remain comfortable while working and visiting with guests. The adjacent open dining area (11'x11') with vaulted ceiling is conveniently situated for dining service. The walk-in pantry (11'x7') has tons of storage cabinets and currently doubles as a laundry room. Large (15'x20') Arizona room off kitchen and dining room has ceramic tile flooring, operational windows, vertical blinds, retractable shades, and ceiling fan for year ‘round comfort and great backyard view. Double doors open into the ensuite primary bedroom (14'x17') which features a ceiling fan and separate his and her walk-in closets with custom built-ins and exhaust fans. A (7'x7') alcove at the entry to the primary could be used as a nursery, additional dresser space, etc. Two additional bedrooms (11'x13' and 11'x10') and secondary full bath offer privacy. Large windows bathe each room in natural ambient lighting. The attached space adjacent to the garage (17'x21') with private entrances includes built-in wall cabinets, toilet, laundry sink, large closet, ceramic tile flooring, skylight, sliding glass door, separate private driveway. Many potential uses, e.g., studio, rec room, in-law suite, or ADU. A neighboring interior room (15'x15') currently exists as a workshop and contains wall-to-wall built-in workbench and cabinets, large storage closet, a sliding glass door, and interior and exterior access. Enjoy spectacular sunsets giving way to twinkling city lights from your perch atop the 15'x18' roof walk. Breathtaking ocean and bird's-eye views may just make this remarkable spot your favorite hideaway, day, or night. Mature landscaping creates beauty, privacy, and includes lemon, orange, and fig trees. The private backyard offers room for all to enjoy with artificial grass, fruit trees, garden area, access to roof walk, and the attractive stick-built workshop (18'x13') which can be used for storage, a studio, she-shed, or whatever your imagination can envision. Built on a concrete slab and tucked into the far end of the backyard, it has two skylights, a window, and paned French doors. Roof replaced six years ago. No HOA or Mello Roos. Under 10-minute drive to the beach and Carlsbad Village, which is teeming with cafes, restaurants, boutiques, art galleries, a weekly Farmer’s Market, and much more.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two students at CHS and it’s a great high school with seniors continuing on to an impressive list of colleges. They have a solid AP and honors offering, as well as career training for both college and non-college bound kids. Athletics are robust and the AD is fantastic- very involved and encourages character development as much as performance. Tons of clubs with something for everyone.Parent Review11mo ago - Magnolia Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has gone to this school for 4 years now. She has had the best possible experience with kind, supportive teachers, great peers, and a supportive, enthusiastic principal. The culture at this school is so positive and has kept my child engaged and happy throughout the years. I love that the principal personally greets each child every morning while playing uplifting music for the students to start their day feeling excited and valued. We are so grateful!Parent Review7mo ago - Valley Middle School

"Retired so only occasional drives to SD on freeway. Have used rail to go up to LA and down to SD. Parking downtown Carlsbad is HORRIBLE. Keeps us from venturing down there. Parking needs to be fixed ASAP."

"Hopefully as a dog owner, respecting to not have your animals going on other neighbors property. However there are often times it can’t be helped, so always pick up your dogs deposits. There are a lot of people who walk their dogs and it is a very pet friendly area. "

"I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 30 years the schools are amazing the people are even better I love this neighborhood the weather is perfect the beaches are great. The only thing that leaves to be desired is public office. Same with the police department there on the good old boy schedule so if you don’t know anybody you won’t get hired. Just let you know not that I’m looking for a job with them."

"Olde Carlsbad is one of the best coastal SoCal neighborhoods, especially for families! Mixes the Olde & the new very well with coastal weather/breezes, urban diversity/density, bike/walk/transit friendly with great suburban schools, safety & family friendly amenities. Best of both worlds quietly tucked between SD to the south, with OC & LA to the north."

"Pickleball at St Michaels Episcopal church where the spirit of a community and inclusion make every game a treat. There are good players at every level and the paddle wheel makes it easy to work in the flow of games. If you like making friends, stick around for an evening bbq with a great group of people. The Carlsbad Music Festival centers at St Michaels and brings many music lovers into the center of the community. They also sponsor a Wine Festival in October that seems like a special occasion."
